Track Name: Brand New Ending
Brand New Ending © 2008 Doug Fergus

Do you ever wish that you could live your life again
If you had another chance, would you live it differently
Well friends I’m here to tell you simply read my book and then
You’ll discover inner peace, a confidence at least from knowing

Chorus:
No you can’t go back and make a brand new start
You can start today and make a brand new ending
No you can’t go back and make a brand new start
You can start today
You can start today
You can start today
And make a brand new ending

Did you steal Hot Wheels, baseball cards and candy
When you were a little kid, smoke a cig and smash a window
Then when you were older, did you wreck your parent’s car
Break into a cable station; rob your neighbor on vacation

Chorus:

Bridge:
Now that I’ve told you just a little ‘bout me
You see I’m not perfect
Hardly
But here I am telling all of you how to be free

Repeat first verse
Track Name: Does She Have a Sister?
Does She Have A Sister? ©1990 Doug Fergus BMI

Many times I find myself
Dreaming of my sweetie pie
When I should be hard at work
My mind starts to fly

Pounding nails in the hot sun
Can’t wait for 12 O’clock
Hey! Homemade cookies and a love note
Inside my lunchbox

Chorus:
Would you like to meet her?
Too bad, she’s mine
Does she have a sister?
You lose, don’t cry!

All day she’s filling up my mind
And it puts me at a risk
Of smashing my finger
Or slipping a disc

Chorus:

Don’t Laugh ©2002 Doug Fergus
Grandma and grandpa can’t remember who I am, each time I visit seems like the first
I sat politely for an hour and a half, gramps told a story 8 or 9 times
So this is what we can look forward to
Can you imagine what they’re going through,
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday, you may be there too.

We took their car keys, “people keep hitting us!” They threw a fit and said “it’s not our fault!”
The street signs are being changed almost every day, causing us to get lost in our neighborhood

So this is what we can look forward to
Can you imagine what they’re going through,
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday, you may be there too.

They swear the helper is putting poison in their food, stealing their socks and underwear
Mom went to see them and tried to straighten everything
They screamed and kicked and pulled each other’s hair

The caregiver quit and said you need to get these two, out of the house and into a home
So Mom found a place and cheerfully delivered them, they cried like kids on their first day of school

So this is what we can look forward to
Can you imagine what they’re going through,
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday
Don’t laugh someday, you may be there too.
Track Name: Feel Much Better Now
Feel Much Better Now © 2009 Doug Fergus BMI

I used to need to control- every little thing in my mind
But as soon as I let go- I started to feel fine
I was angry and frustrated- I was looking so hard for love
Of the sixteen women I dated- no connection with anyone

Chorus:
I feel much better now
Since I gave up hope

Truth is I was looking daily for dates on the internet
I was slightly desperate and craving; all I got was so upset
I simply had to believe it- that I really did not care
I could be contented alone now- maybe never be a pair

Chorus:

Within a year of me dropping my love obsession hell
I met a really cool woman, but only time will tell
She appears totally normal, emotionally healthy too
And real and grounded and focused
I have to think; can it be true?

Chorus:
Track Name: Gray Haired Lady
Gray Haired Lady ©2010 Doug Fergus BMI

Gray haired lady
Horseback rider
Downhill skier
Former hang glider

Chorus:
Why would she dye her hair?
Younger women are everywhere
There’s no need to compete with them
She’s in a league of her own

Gray haired lady
Paints watercolor
Always barefoot
Yoga instructor

Gray haired lady
Loves to cuddle
Sunday morning
Crossword puzzle

Chorus:

Bridge:
She’s my doctor
She’s my teacher
She’s my Buddha
She’s my healer

Gray haired lady
Loves her flowers
Gardens naked
In April showers

Chorus:
Track Name: Guilt Shrine
Guilt Shrine ©2000 Doug Fergus BMI

Have you heard about a weird phenomenon
People feeling fine feel something’s wrong
Surely I do not deserve this happiness
I go to my room and I pray
To my little guilt shrine and I say, whatever I’ve done, forgive me

Blame it on my past; blame it on TV
Who’s responsible? Surely it’s not me
When I’m confident and feeling satisfied
I go to my room and I pray
To my little guilt shrine and I say, whatever I’ve done, forgive me
Track Name: Hey Sheryl
Hey Sheryl ©2010 Doug Fergus BMI

Hello there. I love. Everything. About you
I read. You are. Attracted to. Complex men
I am. In touch with. My greatness. You’ll see

Chorus:
Hey Sheryl
We would make a great team
Hey Sheryl
Like Ali and Steve McQueen

Did you. Get my. E mail. Proposal.
I attached. A pic of me. From last year. I’m thinner now
I am. In touch with. My greatness. You’ll see

Chorus:

OMG. LOL. LTR. TLC.
Please call. Before eight. It’s ok. Mom knows
I am. In touch with. My greatness. You’ll see

Chorus:
Track Name: I Wish You'd Stop
I wish you’d stop- Being so nice to me
Cooking that rice for me
Feeding my mice for me
Dropping the price for me-

Makes it hard to say goodbye

I wish you’d stop- Casting your vote for me
Sailing my boat for me
Leaving cute notes for me
Swimming my moat for me-

Makes it hard to say goodbye

I wish you’d stop- Boiling those beans for me
Bribing the dean for me
Wearing my jeans for me
Slamming the screen on me

Makes it hard to say goodbye

I found myself at school, the subject of much ridicule
Seems I forgot to dress, I could hardly wait for recess

I ran behind a nearby tree, but all the kids pointed at me
there was nowhere else I could hide, so I danced around with pride!

Chorus:
Naked in public, oh what joy like a baby boy,
Naked in public, oh what glee won’t you join me

I found myself at work surrounded by a bunch of jerks
So I got up and took a stance, of course I wasn’t wearing any underpants
My boss told me to stay in my cubicle today
But now no one else will see how glorious this body can be

Chorus:

Walking in a summer breeze, with a canvas bag for my groceries
Wearing sunblock 45, waving to the folks who are surprised

To see me out on the street, with nothing but shoes on my feet
How can this be against the law, nothing finer than being in the raw

Chorus:
Track Name: Radio Star
Radio Star ©2010 Doug Fergus BMI

If you can sing a bit- think you can write a hit- why don’t you lay down your tracks?
There is a place for you- in someone’s living room- why not get into the act
Record your own CD- sell it as an mp3

You’re gonna be a radio star
People in Japan will know who you are
You’re gonna be a radio star
You’ll hear your songs in an airport bar
You’re gonna be a radio star
You’re gonna be a radio star

If you believe it then- you can achieve it now- you must demolish your doubts
If you can fake it then- maybe you’ll make it- before anybody finds out
You don’t need a degree- you can even sing off key

You’re gonna be a radio star
Riding in the back of a sixty foot car
You’re gonna be a radio star
People will fight to light your cigar

Now if you’re ready- get rid of your Teddy- and pick up your phone, make the call
Sylvia’s waiting to jack up your game- she has platinum plates on her walls
If you want to score a hit- go where they make the hits

You’re gonna be a radio star
Fender and Gibson will give you guitars
You’re gonna be a radio star
With purple hair and you’ll act bizarre

Reality Fulfillment 2006 by Doug Fergus

Have you heard some people talk about their fantasies?
Things they want to do before they’re six feet deep
But if you ask me what I want it’s reality

Reality Fulfillment
Reality Fulfillment
Reality Fulfillment

Skydive naked
Swim with dolphins
Meet the Rolling Stones
Yes it sounds like fun but I don’t even have a home
A fantasy for me would be to wash my laundry

Reality Fulfillment

Reality Fulfillment

Harvey wants to make it with a beauty pageant queen
Sheila sees herself up on a movie screen
My needs are just a bit more basic
Will work for food

Track Name: Stop, Drop and Roll
Stop, Drop and Roll ©2010 Doug Fergus BMI

Too tight and too long
She held me too tight
And squeezed me too long

I thought it was an indication that
You’d fall in love too quickly
But soon I was swept right up inside
The enormous fire of your love

Chorus:
Now I’m gonna Stop
Then I’m gonna drop
Then I’m gonna roll
Right on back to you

Sometimes I am slow
What’s obvious
I don’t know

You scared me with your talk of us
Blending lives together
I could not comprehend the heat
And the passion flaming inside you

Chorus:
Now I’m gonna Stop
Then I’m gonna drop
Then I’m gonna roll
Right on back to you
Track Name: Until She Makes Up Her Mind
Until She Makes Up Her Mind

I’d like to get myself a haircut and maybe go back to school
Or take out a loan for 25 grand and build a guitar shaped pool
I want to sing in the shower, and honk my horn in a tunnel
Someday I will write my auto biography but if that won’t sell
I’ll spice it up with lies and advise my family not to tell
May I go on a cruise now, or sleep in a flea bag hotel

Chorus:
My plans are getting cold
May I execute them
Before I get too old
Not until she makes up her mind

I really would like to land a new job like teaching the second grade
Earn a big chunk of self respect instead of being well paid
I’ll ride the school bus with them, and play them songs I’ve written

Chorus:

I’d like to buy a big diamond ring, now close your eyes and guess
Then give it to you and drop to one knee and tell you all I confess
I want to have many children, I mailed the invitations

Chorus:
Track Name: What I Don't Know Won't Hurt Me
What I Don’t Know Won’t Hurt Me ©2009 Doug Fergus BMI

I’ll admit I’m afraid of confrontation with that girl
She’s my date, maybe girlfriend
I don’t know where we stand

Chorus:
Maybe I have low self esteem
Maybe I have a fear of success
I’m just living in the moment
What I don’t know won’t hurt me

Driving down the street she smiles and looks at everyman
Her cell phone rings and she turns away
Covers her mouth with her hand

Chorus:

I don’t know what she does- when she is away from me
She has friends I’ve never met - another world she won’t let me see

She’s so hot I can hardly stand it, can’t imagine letting her go
But try to plan or get an answer
Impossible, she never knows

You’ll Never Know ©1993 Doug Fergus BMI
My best friend all through childhood was a funny little girl
But overnight she became a woman of the world

I used to think of her as a sister, throwing rocks and playing games
Now I don’t know what to think of her, everything has changed

Her life has become complicated, living on the phone
Every guy wants to know her and won’t leave her alone

Now she’s telling me all about it, messing up my fragile head
She wants to know who really loves her, this is what I said

Chorus:
You’ll never know if you don’t know now
And I’m stuck between the in and the out door
You’ll never know if you don’t know now
And I don’t think I should see you any more

Sometimes I wish I had never caught her friendly glance
I could get on with my life; instead I’m learning to dance

She still thinks of me as a brother, that’s a thought I’d love to erase
Maybe I will write her a letter, she’s too much to face

Chorus:
